Huge Card Next Sunday

Man am i pumped for next weekends "ufc live on versus 1" The great thing about this is that its got some incredible fights and its free. I might seem additionaly pumped for the fact that two of my favorite fighters are competing that night: Junior dos santos and jon jones. The santos vs gonzaga fight should definitely be a knock out kinda fight. Both these guys have got the power to finish it in the first round. And on to the jones vs vera fight which is headlining at the event. Jon jones treamendous ability to throw wild things and land them should be a defining factor in that fight and i see that giving him the win. Another ufc event making history here. This is the first ever live ufc event on versus. Which versus is just like spike for people who have direct tv. Also cheik kongo is returning to the octogan after his devistating loss to frank mir. It also seems that the prelims pack a powerfull punch too. Weve got brendan shaubs returning after his loss to tuf 10 winner roy nelson. I really see shaub beating the hell outta all these shitty fighters there going to put him up against due to his loss over nelson. And weve got clay guida takin on some lesser competion after his loss to kenny florian. It seems that after talking about this fight card its a redemption to everyone who is fighting because pretty much everyone i coming off loses except of dos santos. Wherever these fights go these competitors are going to be sent into top contention after these fights and i sure cant wait to see how so of these guys fare up against other top competition.

Paulo Thiago. Underated?

I really think paulo thiago has the skills to go up against st pierre. I really dont think hardy deserves a shot at st pierre. Hardy could not finish swick and paulo rocked swick then slapped a darce on him showing his patience and skills. It shows the thiago has subbmissions which is one of few ways you can fight st pierre. Thiago is better than st pierre on the stand up but what he lacks is what st pierre has. We never really see thiagos ground game much but he has subbmission skills because its not so easy to pull a darce off that good. He improves into a different fighter everytime he fights, i like the way he paws and slips punches but has the power to knock you out. Thiagos boxing is top notch. hes got good head movement and hes a thinker more than just a thrower. His counter striking never ceases to amaze which is usally getting him the win. But am i pouring on to much sugar on it? I dont know how bias i am on this subject but thiagos not really that big of a deal... yet. I know thiagos going to go far i just dont know how far and if hes going to train as hard as he can. Hes definatly not a slacker. Hes on the side of the fighters that are always training non stop. He trains with the best which always pays off in the end. I dont think thiago gets as much credit as he deserves especialy after his one loss. If this guy can train as much as possible and push himself to the edge than i think theres nothing stopping him from becoming the welterweight champion.

Boxing And UFC

Its been going around that alot of boxers want to get in ufc and a good example of someone trying to get in is boxer james toney. toney is looking to move over to ufc but dana white seems to want to hold these boxers back. i really dont see a problem in this, i even think it would evolve mma boxing. if the concern is that boxers wont be good on the ground, then let them have a fight and learn. theres no reason to shatter a persons dream to get in the ufc. theres no doubt that toney has some pretty sick boing skills and i think it would be great so see someone like toney or other boxers fare against someof ufc's best. Theres also rumors going around that manny "pack-man" pacquiao wants to get into mma-ufc. How awesome would it be to see pack man in the ufc? Hes built like an athlete, which they usally do extremely good. Obviously these boxers are getting tired of boxing or the other boxers are just not enough for them that they need to take on a challenge. This could be a great leap for mma. As i was saying this could be evolution for mma, a step up in the striking game. Theres also many other boxers trying to get in mma and ufc but dana white is declining all these boxers. if he feels there going to emmbarrass him then he shouldnt have let holles gracie in the ufc. If these boxers want to get serious and start doing mma then they need to train there asses off... hey it wouldnt be suprising. pro wrestlers can do it. why can they?

Variety In The UFC

I always love to see tons of variety in the ufc. It seems the more variety the better. When you have two completly different fighter it always make a flashy fights. It seems the recent addition of taekwondo(which i would love to see more of) in the ufc has jumped in and proven to be unpredictable. The fighter is brian foster. His last fight was against chris lytle and he unfortunetly lost. But what we did see were some spinning back kicks to the head which were sweet ass! Nobody expects a spinning back kick to the head. I would be truly awesome to see somebody master the art of taekwondo and combine it the right way with other skills in mma to see a pretty crazy fighter. How awesome would it be to see a tornado kick in the ufc? Now as rules go i dont know which kicks are alowwed, but it seems you can do spinnig back kicks to the head so why not other crazy kicks, if mma could evolve and have more fighting styles combined into it, it would be completly different. There are al sorts of styles that havnt been combined with mma yet and it would be intresting to see them in it. I love when someone lands a crazy strike like a spinning back fist or kick, that why jon jone poses a threat in the ufc because of strikes like spinning back elbows and upkicks to the face. This all doesnt apply to just striking either it could go for the ground too. It would make mma twenty steps higher if we could get more variety in it.

Its Time For Some New Blood

Ive got to say the ufc is stacked with the number one fighters in the world with fighters like anderson silva st pierre brock lesnar lyoto machida ect. The ultimate fighter was really needed so we could get new fighters and it worked. Im not trying to say im tired of the fighters currently, its not like im complaining its more of just a lead up to tuf 11. It seems that some of the best fighters come from tuf it it was a really great innovation. last season ultimate fighter saw alot of personalities including kimbo slice. Im not to immpressed with roy nelson, i really think that brendan shaub just got caught of guard and roy got lucky. On to the fact that theres a new ultimate fighter airing in a couple weeks and its on the much needed middle weight division. right now the middle eight division has some pretty good fighters and then one amazing one. Theres really nobody out there who can beat him. As we see in the past the tuf winners usally go on to be succesful and some even get the championship. i would really like to see someone challange anderson silva, i mean the guys the number 1 pound for pound fighter in the world. Hes unnbeatable. It just seems that some divisions are lacking more GREAT fighters, not to say that theres not allot of good ones. The ultimate fighter 11 airs on march 31 wenesday. And i cant wait to see what goes on between the coaches. off of the topic of tuf 11 ide like to rate the divisions on which ones are most stacked and which ones are not. 1=fuggin StAcKeD 5=only a couple.
1= light heavyweight
2= Heavyweight
3= Welterweight
4= Lightweight
5= Middleweight

Its Official: Kimbo VS Mittrione

Its now official. kimbos deal has been sealed with ufc after a controversial option to move over to boxing, but it seems kimbos heart stayed with ufc. Well only a couple things i could say on the good end for mittrione. I watched every episode of tuf 10 and really got into it, and with my previous knowledge of kimbo slice i really hoped he would win it. sad to say fatass roy nelson sat on him the whole time in the crusifix or however you spell it, but nevermind that it seems kimbo has made it into the ufc without winning the show but he definetly earned it with a win over houston alaxander. When i play this fight in my mind i see kimbo kicking the shit outta mittrione, and i think this is one time im not going to throw a "but on the otherhand" because i really dont see the talen in mittrione. You can see the skill mittrione has it just doesnt seem like hes using it the right way or fast enough. It looks like the fighters really branched out after the show with kimbo going to att and really working his ground game and his wrestling. If kimbo cant take the win on the stand-up (which i dont see any reason he cant)Then im sure he will have no problem taking this one to the ground. I see mittriones determination now after the show. it really seems that he found his passion, its just hes still that weird creepy person whos always coming up with excuses, and i would be afraid if i was him that his excuses could reflect his fighting and he just might not be as deticated. Either way this fight should be a great add on to ufc 113.

UFC Primetime Show

The new ufc primetime show just aired and it really impressed me and got me hooked into the upcoming fight between st pierre and hardy. at first i thought hardy would have no chance at st pierre. i still do now but i think hes stepping into this fight a better way than everybody else does. St pierre is now training with renzo gracie witch is a scary thing because renzo is a top level bjj master and has trained the best(he also has an upcoming fight with matt hughes) this way st pirre can deal with high level bjj or use it to his advantage. The only hole i see in st pierre is his striking, which is still very good to begin with. But i think hardys stand up is a little better and hardy doesnt seem to be afraid to get hit. Now on to the show and less about the fight. The show was exeptional and it realy educates people on these upcoming fights and it doesnt fail to entertain those who already have knowledge on the ufc or the upcoming fights. It really took on an exiting role and it was better than i expected. It shows you where the fighters are training how there training and everything else on there schedule, it also takes a deep look into what the fighters are really aboutt and made if. ex. we have cocky hardy whos a no fear brit, and weve got humble no talk st pierre on the other side. anyways the show was a great hit and if you failed to catch the hidden suprise then youll have to watch the re runs. The show airs every wensday at 10 up until the fight.

Jon Jones. Does He Have It?

Now there's been allot of scepticism about Jon Jones last fight against Matt hamill. The fight was truly a great disappointment to everyone. Jon Jones is really a interesting fighter because he has an extremely freakish reach advantage to every one he fights.(think brock lesnar who weighs 265 pounds and is a heavy weight. he has a 81" reach. Now jon jones on the other hand weighs 205 and is in the light heavyweight division and has a 85" reach) This reach advantage really pays off for jones giving him a great opportunity to not get hit. We have also seen his ability to throw the wildest and coolest strikes. He has thrown spinning back fists and elbows. yes a spinning back elbow, and he has great flexibility which allows him to thrown front kicks to the face and various other kicks. But what we really saw in his last fight was his incredible ground game. most ufc fans love to see the type of fighter that jon jones is on the stand up because hes always exiting and he mixes it up, but im sure they dont have a problem with his ground game either. he threw matt hammill to the ground and really did a number on him. i was very amazed with his speed and elbows in mount. He destroyed hammill. The question now is can he beat his next opponents? I dont know if its just me but it seems that jon gets kinda lucky in his fights. Assuming its probably just the hidden power and talent that we dont see on a day to day basis that he has like fellow striker anderson silva. These two remind of each other on the stand up, always mixing things up. Both have the hidden power and talent that you dont see because there fights are usually fast and unpredictable. Your guys thoughts on jonny bones jones?

Does Hardy Even Have A Chance?

Well it's good that I got some readers now. Now honestly does anybody think hardy has a chance against st Pierre? With st Pierres amazing takedowns and his pretty good stand up. I honestlythink there blowing hardy out of praportion. Don't get me wrong hardy has some good stand up but it's probobly not even better than st pierres. I'm not a fan of st Pierre he's probobly one of my least favorite fighters. But man you gotta give that guy some props. He's probobly got the best takedowns in the ufc and arguably mma. I havnt payed much attention to hardy. But I'm gonna shoot this out even though I don't know anything about him but, does this guy even have one ounce of groun skills compared to st Pierre? I see this fight goin to st Pierre with a tko because his last fight with alves was damn good and alves is a beast. I really thought alves was gonna wreck st pierres shit but, st Pierre pretty much took the whole fight. If st Pierre can take alves than he can fuck up hardy really fast. The ufc is really tryin to make hardy to look like a good apossing threat but st Pierre can take a hit and hardy can even hit that hard. I have to say if anyones gonna take on st Pierre than it's gonna be Paulo thiago. Honestly hardy almost had a hard time beating swick and Paulo thiago wrecked mike swicks shit. Slapped a fuckin sweet darce choke on him. It's a pretty stupid match up because st pierres gonna wreck shit. Anybody got other thoughts on this match up?
